The propaganda secretary of the Central Committee of the Estonian Communist Party Neeme Ruus, CPCC secretary Johannes Lauristin, the first secretary Karl Säre, member of the Politburo of the Russian CP and a special envoy in Estonia Andrei Zhdanov, and the Soviet ambassador Vladimir Botshkaryov on the Embassy balcony on 21 June 1940 greeting the demonstrators.
