Despite the ‘Iron Curtain’, the pop culture of the 1960s seeped into Soviet Estonia. Helgi Sallo performing in the popular TV programme Horoskoop in the 1968-9 season. Both the studio design and choice of songs revealed strong Finnish influence, as the latter could be watched in Estonia, and the Finns were among the few foreigners with whom the Estonian television regularly worked together.
