​The average water temperature in the Pärnu Bay is 18.5°C. The beach with its flat bottom and warm water has turned Pärnu into Estonian unofficial summer capital. The largest Estonian summer resort started in 1838 when the tavern on the beach was rebuilt into a bathing establishment.
