​The Riigikogu elections, which take place every four years, are visible all over the country. In addition to public debates in the media, the election period is characterised by events in support of various parties, campaign meetings and posters. After the elections the programmatic promises of the parties tend to sink into the background, the posters soon fade, and Estonian political life resumes its usual everyday course.
